The basic PPL (A) and LAPL (A) licence allows the pilot to fly in daylight only – for those who want to fly in the still night skies, we teach the Night qualification which allows the holder to fly before sunrise and after sunset. The Night qualification is a EASA qualification and is recognised throughout Europe. Night training can be completed during PPL or LAPL training. The requirements for the Night qualification are 5 hours of overall night flying, of which at least 3 are under dual instruction, and at least 1 hour of dual night navigation. This training must include 5 take offs and full stop landings at night.
